YOU CAN'T KEEP POURING FROM A PLACE YOU REFUSE TO REFILL.
Let's have an honest conversation.
Some of us have become so accustomed to being there for everybody else that we've convinced ourselves our own needs can wait.
We're checking on people, encouraging people, solving problems, showing up and making sure everybody else is alright. Meanwhile, we're exhausted, emotionally drained and running on empty. And when somebody asks how we're doing, we say, "I'm fine." But are you, though?
Listen, having a good heart is a beautiful thing, but you need to make sure you're looking after the person who owns it!
🌹 A few reminders for today:
✨ You are allowed to say no without feeling guilty.
✨ You can love people without being responsible for fixing everything in their lives.
✨ You can take a step back without being a bad friend, partner, parent or family member.
✨ You deserve relationships where support is mutual, not situations where you're always the one giving.
✨ Rest is not a reward you have to earn after exhausting yourself.
And here's something else to remember: you don't have to wait until you're completely broken before you give yourself permission to rest.
Stop making yourself available to everybody while being unavailable to yourself.
God gave you a heart to love others, but that doesn't mean you're supposed to neglect yourself in the process.
Today, check in with YOU. What do you need? What have you been putting off? Where do you need to establish a boundary?
Because the truth is, you matter too. Not just because of what you do for people, but simply because you are YOU.
Stop pouring yourself empty to prove you care. You can be a blessing to others without becoming a casualty of your own kindness.
